Guest meeting-lecture with a practicing specialist for applicants of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education ЕP “Information technologies in business”

November 13, 2024 as part of the study of the educational component “Project Management” (teacher – professor of the Department of Digital Economy and Business Analytics Iryna SHEVCHUK) for applicants of the second (master’s) level of higher education of the OPP “Information Technologies in Business” (specialty 051 “Economics” ) in a mixed format, a guest meeting-lecture was held with Andriy CHУPURKO, a delivery expert and director of the IT company “SoftServe” on the topic “Project Management Basics”.

The lecture was also attended by students of the 4th year, who are taught the disciplines “Business analysis of IT projects” (teacher – associate professor of the department of digital economy and business analytics Iryna BORSHKUK) and “Economic risks” (teacher – senior lecturer of the department of digital economy and business analyst Oksana VASKIV) within the framework of the OPP “Information technologies in business” of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education.

At the beginning of the meeting, the listeners learned about the value of a project manager for various business structures as a specialist, which allows to ensure the success of projects and the achievement of business goals. We got acquainted with the internationally recognized certification procedure from the Project Management Institute.

The speaker focused special attention on the PMBOK Guide as a set of standard terminology and instructions (body of knowledge), which contains the best global practices in project management, as well as on the need for constant improvement in this direction. He emphasized that PMI PMBoK practices are implemented in the activities of the IT company “SoftServe”, which allows to meet the cultural and transformational challenges of modern markets.
