Guest lecture on the academic discipline “Accounting and Reporting in the Public Sector Economy”

As part of the cooperation between the Department of Accounting, Analysis, and Control of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and stakeholders, particularly public sector institutions, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting, Analysis, and Control, Anna Shot, delivered a guest lecture on March 18, 2025. The lecture was part of the academic discipline “Accounting and Reporting in the Public Sector Economy” for students of group UFO-31s pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in the specialty 071 “Accounting and Taxation” within the educational and professional program “Accounting, Analysis, and Financial Investigations.” The topic of the lecture was “Accounting for Expenditures in Public Sector Institutions.”

Ludmyla Mykhailivna Khakhula, Deputy Head of the Department for Servicing Local Budget Fund Administrators at the Main Department of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine in Lviv Region, was invited as a guest speaker.

During the lecture, Ludmyla Mykhailivna explained the essence of cash, actual, and direct expenditures, emphasizing the necessity and importance of preliminary control over their execution. She provided students with examples (real-world scenarios) of actual and cash expenditures, the conditions under which they coincide, and the budget classification codes (KЕК) used to reflect different types of expenditures.

The students actively participated in discussions, asked questions, and engaged in debates. The guest lecture was dynamic and sparked student interest in working in the public sector and in their chosen field.
