GRADUATES OF THE EVP “FINANCE, CUSTOMS AND TAX AFFAIRS” ATTENDED THE SHOWING OF THE DOCUMENTARY FILM “BREAD CAPTAIN OF UKRAINE”
February 17, 2026, graduates of the UFF-13s group of the educational program “Finance, Customs and Tax Affairs” of the Faculty of Financial Management and Business of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (advisor – Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management, Candidate of Economic Sciences Vira KRUHLIAKOVA) attended the screening of the documentary film “Bread Captain of Ukraine”, dedicated to the memory of the Hero of Ukraine and the founder of the NIBULON company Oleksiy Vadatursky. Using the example of real history, the graduates had the opportunity to analyze aspects important for the future profession: from managing large capital and countering corruption pressure to the role of big business in the financial stability of the state. The film showed that the principledness in protecting one’s own cause and the rejection of shady schemes even in difficult political conditions are the basis for the long-term development of not only an individual enterprise, but an entire industry – the Ukrainian river fleet.
The event became a practical case that illustrates the relationship between ethics, finance and national security. During the discussion, a special guest – the leading communications specialist of NIBULON Vyacheslav Shpakov – emphasized the importance of transparent business conduct, tax discipline and social responsibility as key components of the financial stability of the enterprise.
The participants also learned how the company’s financial resources were converted into a social shield: from the purchase of medical equipment and the reconstruction of hospitals during the pandemic to participation in the defense of the city in the first days of a full-scale invasion. In particular, the barges of NIBULON served as an obstacle on the water, which made it impossible for enemy forces to advance into the city. The meeting emphasized that professional activity in the field of finance requires not only professional knowledge, but also responsibility, strategic thinking, and a clear civic position.
