On October 7, 2024, students of UFF-14 with adviser Ulyana Vatamanyuk went on an excursion to Rynok Square in Lviv. The central Lviv square is an object for traveling through the city due to the large number of buildings with different styles, facades and unique history, wonderful fountains, cozy courtyards in the most unexpected places and the majestic town hall with a high tower. Rynok Square is the heart of Lviv, a place where history, architecture and culture combine. It is one of the main tourist attractions of the city, attracting the attention of thousands of visitors every day. Walking through the square, we can feel the spirit of ancient Lviv, immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of its past and admire impressive architectural monuments.

One of the most interesting features of Rynok Square is its architectural ensemble. There are 44 different buildings on the square, each of which has its own unique history, including: Boim Chapel – a unique architectural monument, which was built by order of the Boim family in the 17th century. Its value lies in beautiful bas-reliefs and sophisticated details. The Museum of the History of Lviv is located in the palace, where numerous archaeological finds, documents and other exhibits that tell about the history of the city are presented. Rynok Square also houses a building that currently houses the Lviv City Council. This building impresses with its grandeur and monumentality, and its clock tower is one of the most recognizable architectural features of Lviv. The tower rises above the square and serves as a kind of landmark for tourists.

A tour of Market Square in Lviv is an opportunity not only to immerse yourself in the rich historical context, but also to experience the unique cultural atmosphere of the city. It unites the past and the present, traditions and innovation. Rynok Square left an unforgettable impression that accompanied us long after this “journey”. The capital of Galicia impresses with its beauty, mystery and unique atmosphere, which makes Lviv a really special city for everyone who visits it and starts studying in the first year of the OPP “Finance, Customs and Tax Affairs”.
