Commemorating the Heroes of the November Uprising

On November 1, 2025, the academic community of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv commemorated the 107th anniversary of the November Uprising and the proclamation of the West Ukrainian People’s Republic.
On this occasion, representatives of the University paid tribute to the fallen Heroes at the Memorial to the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen and soldiers of the Ukrainian Galician Army at the Yaniv Cemetery.

The memorial events were traditionally attended by the rector, vice-rectors, deans, teachers, employees, students, and representatives of public organizations. Among the participants were representatives of the Faculty of Finance and Business Management: Deputy Dean for Educational Work Yuliya SHUSHKOVA, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Financial Management – Professor Igor NAZARKEVYCH, Associate Professors Lyubov PETYK, Victoria DUBYK, Vira KRUHLYAKOVA, Olga SYCH, Sofia SMOLINSKA, as well as first-level (bachelor’s) higher education students.
Those present honored the memory of all those who died, in particular those who are defending Ukraine today in the war against Russian aggression, with a minute of silence. During the memorial service and public gathering, participants paid tribute with a joint prayer to those who, through their sacrifice and love for their homeland, upheld the ideals of freedom, democracy, and statehood of the Ukrainian people.
