Binary Lecture at the Faculty of Pedagogical Education
On March 4, 2026, a binary lecture titled “Development of Entrepreneurial Competencies of Adults in the System of Lifelong Learning” was held for students of the second (Master’s) level of higher education. The event was conducted as part of the curriculum for the “Andragogy: Adult Education” course.
The lecture was the result of scientific and methodological cooperation between the Faculty of Financial Management and Business and the Faculty of Pedagogical Education. The joint session was led by Nataliia Machynska, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Olha Sych, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.
During the session, entrepreneurship was explored not only as an economic category but also as a historical process. Particular attention was paid to the transformation of the Ukrainian business environment: from traditional pre-revolutionary entrepreneurship, through the period of Soviet repressions, to the “wild capitalism” of the 1990s, characterized by “shuttle traders” and “kravchuchka” trolleys. This context helped students understand the historical roots of modern business culture in Ukraine.
The lecture highlighted current global labor market data, noting that 40% of professionals today work in freelance or project-based formats. Special emphasis was placed on adult learning methodologies. Associate Professor Olha Sych presented practical case studies on establishing a business specifically within the pedagogical education system. Master’s students were provided with planning algorithms for launching their own educational ventures and useful resources for self-diagnosing entrepreneurial aptitude.
The lecture demonstrated that in the contemporary landscape of lifelong learning, entrepreneurial competence is a fundamental requirement for the competitiveness of humanities specialists. The integration of pedagogical expertise and financial literacy empowers future professionals not only to be employees but also to independently create jobs and innovative educational products.
