Опис курсу

The discipline “Mathematical methods and models of the market economy” belongs to the professional component in the normative component of the master’s curriculum of the educational and professional program “Information technologies in business” in the specialty 051 “Economics”.

In a market economy, the functioning of various socio-economic systems is carried out under the influence of a large number of environmental factors that cause arrhythmia of flow processes, which leads to losses in the operation of complex systems. The evolution and non-stationarity of economic objects make it necessary to widely use complex mathematical methods and models that make it possible to take into account the peculiarities of market conditions, to enrich economic activity with the possibilities of accounting for data about objects, to take into account changes in planning models, loss estimation and analysis of the implementation of plans based on simulation and predicting the influence of various factors.

Mathematical methods and models of research and management of the market economy make it possible to study economic phenomena and processes and improve the justification and making of management decisions. The knowledge obtained by masters can be used by them in further practical activities in the management of market economic systems.

The subject of the educational discipline “Mathematical methods and models of the market economy” are tools for mathematical modeling of the processes of managing companies at various economic levels, methodological provisions and tools for mathematical modeling of the processes of analysis and management of economic objects at the macro-, meso- and microeconomic levels, a set of methods, means and methods of developing management solutions in the conditions of a market economy.

The purpose of studying the educational discipline “Mathematical methods and models of the market economy” is the acquisition of knowledge, the formation of competencies, skills that ensure the correct formalization of various classes of economic systems, the development and implementation of mathematical methods, meaningful interpretation of the results of solving problems of mathematical modeling in economic systems; formation of master’s systems of knowledge on methodology and tools for modeling economic systems, formation of practical skills in the construction and application of mathematical methods and models of functioning of objects and processes of the market economy.

The object of study of the discipline “Mathematical methods and models of the market economy” are complex economic systems of different levels of hierarchy and dimensions that make up the market economy, processes in the economy and indicators corresponding to the development of the market economy.

The main tasks of the discipline “Mathematical methods and models of the market economy” : mastering the methods of mathematical modeling of the market economy for the solution of applied economic problems, familiarization with the main approaches to the modeling of the market economy, mastering the methods of decision-making in various classes of economic problems, acquiring practical skills of mathematical modeling of economic systems and application of decision-making theory to practical problems.

The discipline “Mathematical methods and models of the market economy” is interconnected with such disciplines as “Microeconomic analysis” , “Macroeconomic analysis” , “Applied econometrics” , “Measurement and evaluation tools of socio-economic processes” , “Smart economy”.

The study of an academic discipline involves the achievement of such a qualification level of student training, for which he must:

a) know:

  • methodological principles of mathematical modeling of processes, objects and phenomena of the market economy;
  • methodological principles of quantitative analysis and mathematical modeling of objects, systems and processes of the market economy;
  • principles and methodological approaches to the construction of economic and mathematical models;
  • conceptual provisions and tools for the analysis of mathematical models and methods and their application in the management of economic processes;
  • classes of mathematical methods and models of management of objects and processes of the market economy;
  • mathematical models and methods of economic development analysis at the macro-, meso- and microeconomic level, evolutionary modeling methods;
  • mathematical models of economic security at different levels of management, mathematical models of bankruptcy diagnostics, mathematical methods and models of innovative development.
  • b) be able to:
  • analyze socio-economic objects and processes using classic modeling methods;
  • conduct system analysis and model socio-economic systems of different levels;
  • develop and research mathematical models of the functioning of economic systems and objects;
  • apply mathematical methods at the macro-, meso-, and microeconomic level, apply evolutionary modeling methods, analyze adaptive and rational expectations;
  • apply mathematical modeling of economic security at different levels of management, models of economic security of the region and the enterprise, bankruptcy diagnosis methods;
  • evaluate the system characteristics of the enterprise: maneuverability, viability, reliability;
  • forecast the development of economic systems and processes, monitor and control the development of economic systems;
  • provide information and analytical support for management decisions and further development of the company’s strategy;
  • apply tools of anti-crisis management of the enterprise, tools for supporting the processes of managing cash flows, enterprise finances, operational and investment activities.
