The discipline “Management of finances of the social sphere” is an optional discipline from the specialty “Finance, banking, insurance and stock market” for the educational program “Finance, customs and tax affairs” of the second (master’s) level of higher education, which is taught in the 3rd semester in the volume of 3 loans (according to the European Credit and Transfer System ЕСТС).

The educational discipline has been developed in such a way as to provide applicants with the necessary knowledge about the development of the social sphere and to form in them the skills of effective use of modern methods of managing the finances of the social sphere.

The purpose of studying the selective discipline “Management of finances of the social sphere” is the study of modern methods and models of management of finances of the social sphere at the state and local levels, as well as the formation of skills in assessing the consequences of financial policy and determining the possibilities of increasing its effectiveness in the social sector.

The main goals of the academic discipline:

– to provide knowledge about the essence and purpose of the social sphere, its role in the processes of distribution, redistribution and use of GNI, about modern trends and regularities of social development, as well as scientific concepts of development and regulation of the social sphere;

– to form an understanding of the content of financial management of the social sphere and the mechanism of its implementation, goals, indicators and instruments of state influence on the social sphere;

– to form the ability to diagnose the social sphere/politics, the state of social problems at the state and local levels.
