The academic discipline “Finance” is aimed at forming in higher education students theoretical knowledge and practical competencies regarding the essence and mechanisms of finance functioning, their role and impact on the socio-economic development of society. The discipline reveals the procedure for the formation, distribution and use of funds of financial resources that ensure the effective functioning of individual components of the state’s financial system.

The purpose of studying the academic discipline “Finance” is to acquire by higher education students a system of knowledge on the formation, distribution and use of financial resources at the macro- and micro-levels of the economy.

Objectives of the academic discipline “Finance”:

‒ study of the historical processes of the origin, formation and development of financial relations in Ukraine and individual foreign countries;

‒ mastering the essence and mechanism of finance functioning, their functions;

‒ disclosure of the theoretical foundations of state, corporate and international finance;

‒ mastering the principles of the functioning of the state’s financial system;

‒ formation of the theoretical and methodological base among higher education students necessary for subsequent mastery of the practice of using financial instruments;

‒ understanding of the patterns in the sphere of financial relations of the state, economic entities and the population, revealing the possibilities of using these patterns in practical financial activities.
