“Exchange Activities” is an elective educational component in the specialty “Finance, Banking and Insurance” for the OPP “Finance, Customs and Taxation”, taught in the 8th semester in the amount of 120 hours (4 credits according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS). The study of the discipline consists of a lecture course, seminar classes, independent work of students and the performance of individual research work.

The purpose of studying the academic discipline is to master theoretical knowledge and form professional competencies in organizing and conducting operations on the stock market.

Objectives of the discipline “Exchange Activities”:

• to master the theoretical and organizational foundations of exchange activities;
• to acquire the ability to explain individual provisions of the legislation regarding the conduct of operations on the stock market;
• to acquire knowledge on the organization and conduct of operations on the stock market;
• get acquainted with the specifics and features of the mechanism of functioning of regulated markets, multilateral (MTO) and organized (OTM) trading platforms in accordance with current legislation and international standards;
• get acquainted with the laws of trading in securities, currency, energy and agricultural products on global and domestic exchange platforms;
• master the skills of applying exchange transactions (spot and forward), fundamental and technical analysis tools, as well as methods of clearing, settlement and hedging of financial risks of business entities in Ukraine.
