The “Financial Sector Development Policy”  is an elective course for the “Finance, Banking, Insurance, and Stock Market” specialty within the “Finance, Banking and Insurance” educational program. It is taught in the 3rd semester and is a 3-credit course (ECTS).

This academic course is an elective for second-year master’s students and is part of the professional and practical training cycle. It aims to prepare highly qualified financiers with a deep understanding of the problems, strategies, and reforms that are dynamically changing Ukraine’s financial sector. The course is based on and considers current changes in Ukraine’s Financial Sector Development Strategy, the legislative framework for regulating the financial sector, and sustainable development policy.

The purpose of this course is to systematize students’ knowledge of the historical, organizational, and methodological aspects of state planning, economic, and analytical activities related to forming financial sector development policy. The course focuses on regulation to ensure financial stability, financial inclusion, cybersecurity, and the proliferation of newest technologies.

The main learning objectives are to:

  • Develop an understanding of the meaning and essence of state policy and the institutional support for the development of state financial policy.
  • Familiarize students with the features of building the financial sector.
  • Study the specifics of the state’s activities in determining the principles and priorities of financial sector reform, particularly in the context of Ukraine’s integration into the EU and the introduction of innovative solutions and technologies into the financial ecosystem.
